Joseph Janabi
About Joseph
Certified Cupping Therapy Specialist in Mississauga
Languages: English, Arabic
Joseph Janabi didn’t stumble into cupping therapy; he built his practice around it. With over eight years of hands-on clinical experience, Joseph works out of M City Holistic Therapy Clinic in Mississauga, where he’s helped hundreds of clients work through pain, tension, and the kind of persistent discomfort that doesn’t respond well to conventional approaches alone.
His specialties, Hijama (wet cupping), dry cupping, and massage cupping, aren’t just services he offers. They’re disciplines he’s spent years refining, one session at a time. He trained and certified through Hijama Nation Academy, where he developed what he describes as the foundation of his entire clinical approach: safe technique, ethical practice, and the discipline to actually listen before you treat.
That last part matters more than it might sound. Joseph’s sessions are individually structured based on each client’s health history, current condition, and what they’re actually trying to achieve. There’s no one-size-fits-all protocol here. Someone coming in with a sports injury gets a very different approach than someone managing chronic postural tension or stress-related fatigue, and Joseph thinks that’s exactly how it should be.
What He Works With
Joseph regularly works with clients managing musculoskeletal and chronic pain, sports and activity-related injuries, postural stiffness, circulatory concerns, and fatigue. He leans toward natural, non-medication-based approaches where appropriate, with a focus on improving mobility, reducing discomfort, and supporting long-term physical function, not just short-term relief.
Credentials & Professional Development
Joseph is currently completing a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner program at AIM Academy (expected 2027), which he sees as a natural extension of the integrative work he already does in the clinic. He’s a Registered Member of Hijama Nation Academy and a Member of Traditional Chinese Medicine Ontario affiliations that reflect his ongoing commitment to professional standards and patient safety.
He doesn’t view education as something that stops when the certification arrives. The TCM training, the professional memberships, the continued clinical work, it’s all part of staying sharp and giving clients care that’s genuinely informed, not just well-intentioned.
A Note on His Writing
When Joseph contributes content to this site, it comes from real clinical experience, not research assembled at a distance. His articles and guides are written to help you understand cupping therapy clearly, ask better questions, and make decisions about your care from a place of confidence rather than confusion.
